I have been someone who has voted; I voted left because that’s what I was surrounded by. I was born into that environment, even though my grandparents were right-wing. My father, my mother and my sister are very political, all on the left.
My parents, now separated, are still left-wing, and my sister, after marrying someone on the right, stopped talking about politics.
It seems that if you’re not interested in politics or don’t understand it, you’re an illiterate. And now everything has become political.
It has turned into something similar to sex, where we put everything into it: love, pleasure, orgasms, intimacy… and in politics, it’s the same, everything ends up there.
No matter what you talk about, urban planning, healthcare, work, citizenship… everything is politics. But no, just like with sex, we’ve created a mental mess, and with politics it’s exactly the same.
Everything is being politicised.
And the worst part is that with a vote, you can put someone in power who leads you toward extreme systems or even wars. We are seeing it.
I said it a long time ago, and I say it again without hesitation. For me, people who try to achieve things through violence, intimidation and death are completely uneducated and unbalanced.
Respect and agreements are built through good manners, education and humility.
Those are the roles to follow. If you don’t see it, as I’ve said before, you are blind.
The private system is sustaining the public one. Workers and small business owners are the ones paying public salaries. Public workers have support and stability, while private ones sustain everything and only receive help when they are at their limit.
Having lived in three different countries and used the system, I can confirm that we need a change in management right now.
There is a huge difference in management between public and private systems, and it’s already becoming embarrassing. You just have to look at healthcare. In the private system, you can get an MRI appointment almost the same day, whereas in the public system, it’s at least 3 months.
Honestly, I don’t care whether things are public or private; what matters is that they work. We pay for it either way, directly or indirectly; it’s the same.
Ministries are not well managed, and it’s obvious. Who are the ministers? Politicians. Everyone who works in a ministry got there through studies and exams. How can we put the “CEOs” of ministries there just because they are politicians? It makes no sense to me. A Minister of Health with a degree in history… if it were chemistry, it would make more sense, but from humanities to science?
I repeat myself, and it’s just a gesture: on election day, go to your polling station, but don’t vote. Stay outside with a chair and your picnic, and connect with your neighbours. But please, don’t talk about politics. Talk about the weather, holidays, sex, whatever you want, but nothing related to politics.
We don’t need a president of the government; we don’t need so many members of parliament. And it’s not just about money; it’s about constant manipulation.
We could vote on laws directly as citizens through an app. Online voting already exists and will become increasingly common. There will come a time when voting in person will seem strange.
When I’m not in Spain, I live completely disconnected from politics, and I like how that feels.
I invite you to try it. Don’t watch television, find your hobbies, choose carefully what you consume and be a well-cultivated citizen.
You will be virtuous, and you won’t need anyone to lead you. ✨
