Cris Blas collaborates on La Tarde de Telemadrid: Is nudism culture or just a habit?

Is nudism a culture… or simply a habit?

In a recent panel discussion on the program La Tarde de TeleMadrid, a debate emerged in which I collaborated. Although the question may seem simple, it actually touches on a deep issue in our society: is nudism a cultural matter or simply a habit that makes us uncomfortable because we are not used to seeing it?

In the video there are opinions both for and against, which clearly reflects how the human body continues to be a topic that generates debate, curiosity and sometimes discomfort for many people. While some see it as a natural way of relating to the body, others interpret it from a more social or cultural perspective.

In this conversation I also participate, Cris Blas, bringing a perspective closely connected to my work in conscious sexuality, self-awareness and the relationship with the body. From my point of view, the human body is something completely natural, yet society has built around it taboos, norms and beliefs that deeply influence how we perceive it.

The debate raises a very interesting question:
Why can something as natural as the human body generate so much conflict or discomfort?

Often it is not really about nudism itself, but rather about the cultural ideas we have learned about the body, intimacy and what is considered acceptable or not in each society. In very few places in the world it is experienced with total naturalness, while in others it remains a controversial topic.

From my experience as a sex coach and guide in personal development processes, I believe these debates are important because they invite us to reflect on something fundamental: the relationship each person has with their own body.

Beyond being for or against nudism, what is really interesting is asking ourselves where our reactions, prejudices or discomfort come from. Often we discover that they are not truly our own ideas, but rather beliefs inherited from culture, education or society.

For me, talking about these topics is part of a broader process: reconnecting with our bodies, freeing ourselves from certain judgments and learning to live sexuality and intimacy from a more conscious and natural place. On this path I have also created a nudist community, where we explore our relationship with the body through respect, naturalness and awareness. Within this community I also organize monthly online events, where people can share experiences, reflect on their relationship with the body and experience moments of connection in a safe, respectful and non-judgmental environment.

These types of conversations help open spaces where we can speak more honestly about the body, personal freedom, respect and the diversity of ways of experiencing intimacy.
